The USA has recently intercepted data about the ailing president of South Korea, Kim Jong Un. He is said to live a sedentary lifestyle of smoking, poor diet and lack of exercise. He has also been undergoing ''coronary artery stent surgeries'' until now.
Can someone explain what coronary artery disease is?

Coronary syndrome is a disease that affects the coronary artery responsible for vascularization of the heart muscle, the accumulation of lipids in the arteries causes the formation of plaque atheromas which can lead to total obstruction of the artery, result, ischemia of the heart muscle and of course arrest of cardiac function in advanced cases

Simply put, Coronary heart disease is a narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries (blood vessels that carry blood and oxygen to the heart. It's one of the top leading causes of death among people. For Kim Jong Un, this condition can be the result of his heavy smoking. He also has a family history of heart disease, so it is possible that he has fallen victim to this illness.
